Walnuts Recalled By SoCal-Based Company

COMMERCE, Calif. (AP) — El Guapo brand shelled walnuts sold in Southern California have been recalled because of possible salmonella bacteria contamination.

Commerce-based Mojave Foods Corp. announced the recall Wednesday of 1-ounce packages with the date code 5527.

The Pasadena Star-News says the recalled nuts are supplied by Visalia-based Atlas Walnuts with the El Guapo label and they are only sold in Southern California.

Consumers should not eat the recalled product and should destroy it.

Mojave Foods can be reached by calling (800) 995-8906, ext. 114, for replacement or reimbursement.
