LANCASTER (CBS) — Middle school kids might be too young to donate blood but that didn’t keep one particular group of kids in Lancaster Thursday from being sanguine (ouch!)

Scores of kids from the Amargosa Middle School urged parents, teachers and friends of the school to roll up their sleeves for a good cause.

And if that wasn’t enough, the school’s “Star Wars” club lead the way. The kids dressed up as Imperial Storm Troopers and urged everyone in this galaxy, and those far, far away…to do their part.

Last year the kids gathered 80 pints! Bloody good show! This year, they aimed at 100.

This is the time of year blood is needed most, so…if you’re not traveling to a galaxy too far, you might want to give and encourage those around you to do the same.
