Detectives Appeal To Public To Help Find Person Who Killed Mom In Car-To-Car Shooting

COMPTON (CBS) — Detectives Thursday asked for the public's help to help them find the person who  killed the mother of a 2-year-old girl last month in a car-to-car shooting on the 91 Freeway in Compton.

Marisol Aguayo, 22, of Lynwood was a passenger when she was fatally shot near Wilmington Avenue about 8:10 p.m. Nov. 26, according to the sheriff's department.

Aguayo was the mother of a 2-year-old daughter, said sheriff's.

Someone fired several rounds into the driver's side of the vehicle, sheriff's homicide detectives said.

The driver was not injured. The driver pulled off the freeway and stopped at an am/pm store, but Aguayo died before she could be taken to a hospital.

Investigators determined the shooting was a "car-to-car" attack, but no description of the suspect vehicle was made available.

Sheriff's deputies urged anyone who might have witnessed the shooting to call the Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
