Firefighter Recovers After Falling From Burning Studio City Home

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — After falling from the roof of a burning Studio City home, a firefighter is recovering with a broken ankle and a sprained knee.

The firefighter, 24-year veteran Al Flores, fell when a ladder slipped from under him, which was exclusively caught on tape by Sky 2.

"I'm very happy to say that I know he's OK and I know all the wives and families back home are kind of worried, but I assure you he's all right," Los Angeles Fire Battalion Chief Chris Kawai said.

A fire broke out in a home in the 11000 block of Dona Lisa Drive about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, prompting a response of 88 firefighters. The fire's cause was determined to be electrical and damage was later estimated at about $200,000.
