Second Storm To Bring Gusty Winds, Rain And Snow
LOS ANGELES (CBS/AP) — Authorities say traffic crashes are on the rise as a winter storm brings gusty winds, dense fog and rain to Southern California.
The California Highway Patrol reported over 300 "traffic collisions of all types" on Los Angeles County roads between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. Saturday. That's compared with 43 mishaps during the same period last weekend, City News Service reports.
The National Weather Service says a winter storm warning will be in effect for the mountains of Los Angeles, Riverside and San Bernardino counties until 10 p.m. Sunday.

Up to two-and-a-half inches of rain are expected in some mountainous areas by late Saturday, with up to two feet of snow possible in elevations above 7,000 feet.
Forecasters say winds in inland Southern California could reach 40 miles per hour, with gusts of over 60 miles per hour near mountain ridges. However, no wind advisories have been issued for Los Angeles County.
Snow levels are expected to drop to 4,000 feet as a second system moves into Southern California Sunday morning.
