Officials: Rotary Saw Sparked Rubidoux Brush Fire
RUBIDOUX (CBS) — A fire official says a rotary saw sparked a fast-moving 45-acre wildfire in Rubidoux, and the person using it will have to pay for the cost of extinguishing the blaze.
The fire broke out Sunday afternoon near Pacific Avenue and Canal Street, Riverside County Fire's Jody Hagemann said.
About 160 firefighters, four air tankers, two water tenders and two bulldozers were deployed to contain the flames, which were out by 1:45 p.m. Sunday.
No structures were threatened and no injuries were reported, she said.
The person who started the fire was cited by investigators.
