Police Need Public’s Help To Find Missing Man, 87

LOS ANGELES (CBS) —  Authorities are hoping the public can help them find a missing 87-year-old man.

Los Angeles police said the 87-year-old man was having dinner with his caretaker when he wandered off.

Emilio Ortiz was seen last Friday near La Brea Avenue and Rodeo Road, police said.

Ortiz has gray hair and brown eyes, is 5 feet 4 inches tall, and weighs about 120 pounds. He walks with a cane and was wearing a blue coat, blue shirt and tan pans.

Anyone with knowledge of Ortiz’s whereabouts was asked to call Detective Kristin Merrill at (213) 996-1800.

Don’t cringe, but why not try a police dog. Mr Ortiz’s cent can be recovered easily from an old shoe. They should have done that on day one.

This is really sad. My father had the same illness, had to be watched 24/7. He would be talking to you and at the same time he would be trying to sneak out. Pops was clever and a brave man. He lost his battle of life in 2007. He fought with the zealousness of a lion all the way to the end.
