Snuggie weather

We had some of the coldest temperatures of the season this morning.  The San Fernando and San Gabriel Valleys dropped into the 40's and 30's this morning.  I know we get a lot of grief from our friends and relatives in other colder (nasty weather) cities, but 30's is cold no matter where you live.  So today I think we can all feel good about saying..."It's darn cold!"  There was a frost advisory this morning for the high desert.  So how does frost occur???  Well here's a brief explaination...Frost forms just like dew does.  You have a layer of air that is at or below freezing directly on the ground.  The temperature drops to the point where the air is saturated and the condensation that forms freezes on grass and vegetation.   However, several feet higher...the temperature can be well above freezing.

On an unrelated weather note...I saw "The Social Network" over the weekend.  It was my first date night out in forever!  The movie was great...the company was better, but the parking at the Grove was miserable!
