Car Fatally Strikes Woman In Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A woman was fatally struck by a car while crossing the street early Monday morning, police said.
The accident took place at Beverly Boulevard and Alvarado Street at about 3:55 a.m., according to LAPD Officer Fernando Cardona.
"The driver said the woman jumped in front of his car," Cardona said.
The 54-year-old woman, who was not in a crosswalk, was killed, he said.
The driver, who was not believed to be driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, was not cited, he said.
An investigation was continuing.
