Man, 37, Arrested For Allegedly Committing Lewd Acts On A Child

PERRIS (CBS)  — Officials have arrested a 37-year-old Perris man who allegedly committed lewd acts on a child as well as taking photographs of children engaged in sex acts.

Benjamin Nunez was taken into custody Thursday and booked into the
Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside, where he is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.

Nunez is suspected of taking pornographic pictures of two girls, ages 3 and 9, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

More than 60 explicit photos were reportedly uncovered on floppy disks that Nunez gave to his former roommate, said sheriff's Sgt. Kevin Smith.

The man told investigators that before Nunez moved out, he handed him
the disks, indicating they were unused.

However, when the roommate loaded a disk into his computer, he immediately discovered the child pornography, according to Smith.

Nunez was located and arrested without incident. The victims were also found, Smith said.

Investigators are seeking additional witnesses and urged anyone with information on the case to call the sheriff's Perris station at (951) 210-1000.
