CYPRESS (AP) — A public funeral will be held for state Sen. Jenny Oropeza, who died last week at age 53.

Services are scheduled at 1 p.m. Monday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Cypress.

Oropeza died at a hospital on Wednesday from complications of a blood clot that was found in her abdomen in May.

Oropeza, a Democrat from Long Beach, was known for championing health and environmental causes, including unsuccessful legislation that sought to ban smoking at state parks and beaches.

She missed most of the current Senate session because of illness.

Jenny did alot for the community. To say something like this merely shows your ignorance and not how clever that you think that you are. Is this supposed to be humorous, moron?

  2. Not a Moron says:

One ‘fewer’, you stupid moron FLF. Go live in Alaska, where your vile comments will be appreciated by other morons. God bless Oropeza for the good things she tried to do for the community. She will be missed
