President Obama To Speak At USC
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — President Barack Obama will speak to USC students next week while he is in town on a fundraising visit.
According to the university, Obama will speak at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 22 at
McCarthy Quad near the Doheny Library.
President Gerald R. Ford and then-candidates John F. Kennedy and Richard M. Nixon have all spoken in the quad.
Obama's visit to the campus will be hosted by the USC Political Student Assembly.
Obama visited USC in October 2006, while he was a U.S. senator.
The president will be in Los Angeles primarily to attend a fundraiser on behalf of Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., who is being challenged by Republican Carly Fiorina.
This will be Obama's fifth trip to the Southland since taking office.
His most recent visit, Aug. 16-17, raised the ire of many commuters because of traffic jams caused in the West Los Angeles area due to the presidential motorcade.
