Caught On Tape: Man Beats, Robs Security Guard In Perris

PERRIS (CBS) — Surveillance video was released Friday of a man beating and robbing a security guard in the parking lot of a Riverside Transit Agency bus depot in Perris.

The robbery was reported at 3:30 a.m. Aug. 8, Riverside Sheriff's Sgt. Kevin Smith said.

The video shows a uniformed security officer walk up to a silver Honda Accord that was parked in the lot. The guard told the driver he could not park there and asked him to leave, Smith said.

The guard began walking away, but the driver got out and punched him, knocking him to the ground.

During the attack, a woman got out of the car and tried to stop the beating, but she was unsuccessful, Smith said. The suspect robbed the man before fleeing in the car with the woman.

The suspect was described as a Latino man with black hair, brown eyes, about 5-foot-6 and 190 pounds with a small mustache. The Honda was a 1998-2002 model.

Anyone with information about the robbery was asked to call the sheriff's department at (951) 201-0540.
