SoCal Auto Thefts Plunge; 4th Straight Year

SACRAMENTO  (KNX 1070) - For the fourth consecutive year, vehicle thefts in California have dropped, with many car owners crediting the increased availability of anti-theft technology.

The California Highway Patrol says thefts are down 15 percent from 2008 to 2009.  But don't leave those windows down just yet:  Southern California remains a hot spot for vehicle theft, with over half of all thefts last year occurred in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and San Diego counties.
