No Free Parking: New LA Meters Installed

LOS ANGELES (KNX 1070) — The days of free parking at broken meters in LA are over as new meters are installed around the city.

Along with the more high-tech versions of the familiar meters, there are also new rules which include allowing tickets for parking at busted spots. Officials say if the coin slot doesn’t work and the new credit card readers don’t work, don’t park there. They hope to discourage people from tampering with the devices to get free parking.
