3 Killed When Car Crashes Into Stone Sign
LONG BEACH (AP) — Three people have died in a high-speed crash into a concrete sign at the entrance to Long Beach Peninsula.
The crash killed the driver, a man, and two female passengers who were ejected from the vehicle. It occurred just after midnight Sunday.
Another man was thrown from the car and taken to a hospital with severe injuries.
Authorities say another car crashed into something moving eastbound, though it's not clear what. Two people ran from the car, and one was caught nearby.
The names of those killed and injured weren't released. Long Beach firefighter Steve Yamamoto says both vehicles were moving at a high speed. Officials say it's unknown if the two cars were racing.
