Though there are apps and online games that simulate this popular sport, there's nothing like heading to a real bowling alley for a game or three with friends. In Orange County, many lanes offer late-night bowling specials, complete with unlimited lane time for one set price. Some venues get exceptionally creative, adding karaoke, live music and/or laser effects to the game. Bowling doesn't have to be your first destination when going out, but the following lanes can make it a great way to close out the night.

Irvine Lanes is available for parties, corporate team-building activities and special events such as Bar/Bat Mitzvahs. When it's time for Galaxy Bowling, though, things get rather interesting. Using a combination of music and special effects, this alley sheds a new light on the classic game. Galaxy Bowling occurs on Tuesdays from 9 p.m. to Midnight, and on Fridays and Saturdays from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Whether you want to make a trip of it, or you live close to Irvine, you'll undoubtedly have some great late night fun here.

For around $15, you get unlimited bowling plus shoe rental from 8 p.m. until 1 a.m. They also offer special prices on appetizers and drinks during this timeframe. If other activities are of interest to members of your group, arcade cards are available at a discount. After a tough Monday at work or school, make sure to check out Bowlmor after dark for a great time!

The fun starts at 9:30 p.m. on Fridays and 4 p.m. on Saturdays at Forest Lanes. Lane fees are reasonable priced per hour, and if you really want to make it a late night, your group can bowl from Midnight to 2 a.m. on Fridays ($10 per person) and 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Saturdays ($11 per person).
