Steak & Whiskey: The two things men need to survive.
It also happens to be the name of Hermosa Beach’s delicious new steakhouse; which you’ll soon learn you can’t survive without.
Last month Blackhouse Hospitality opened its wooden doors to this not so cavernous man cave. Housed in a 1920’s historic building, fashioned with exposed brick, wooden beams and leather booths, you’ll cross the threshold into a time when the drinks were rough and consumed under cover.
You won’t find anything rough about these drinks, however. The large selection of whiskeys (including many from Japan) is nothing like the moonshine your pappy was drinking in his heyday. Their handcrafted cocktails feature imaginative tea and alcohol fusions, in addition to wines served with anti-oxidation technology of Coravin, making your drink as suave as your pick-up lines.
More: A Proper Mardi Gras
Though some of the concoctions offered to imbibe are deliciously inventive, this hot spot also exudes a more rustic feel which is prominent in the fare. The starters like French onion Soup and Steak Tartare represent the elegance, while entrees like the lamb pot pie and steaks remind you why classics are classy.
So head to Steak & Whisky this weekend and discover all you really need to survive.
