Does the thought of ice cream bring fantasies of butterflies and rainbows and pure unadulterated happiness, or are they more like the scene from Varsity Blues? You know which one I mean. No matter what your fantasies may be, after you try Salt & Straw, all of them will be fulfilled (ok, so maybe not all... it's just not scientifically possible for whipped cream to stick like that).

Owner Kim Malek decided, after years of working behind a desk at several Fortune 500 companies, that it was time to stand up (literally) and move her office behind a counter. With cousin, Tyler, the Malek team opened this amazing "farm-to-cone" ice cream shop in Portland. And lucky for you Angelino's, they have recently decided to grace you with their presence by opening a location in Larchmont Village.
With a focus on community, Kim and Tyler strive to build a setting in which neighbors can bump into one another and friends can catch up over a few scoops. But their focus moves beyond the social aspect and is emphasized in their kitchen as well, with most of their ingredients and flavors coming from local California vendors.

Local flavors are served up in scoops such as the Stumptown Coffee & Compartes love nuts. While other flavors, such as the salted, melted, chocolate chip cookie dough; avocado and strawberry sherbet; or black olive brittle and goat cheese, are combined to produce an awesome tune for your tongue.
With flavors like this, who even needs whipped cream?
