Los Angeles Concerts To Look Forward To In 2014

Performing arts complexes in Los Angeles are expected to shake, rattle and roll in 2014 when some of the more exemplary figures in the music industry take the stage in an impressive series of presentations. From such legendary rock bands as Chicago and the Eagles to contemporary R&B artist Beyonce and 'king of country' George Strait, music buffs can expect to be entertained quite well throughout the year. With so many live shows happening in and around L.A., here are a few select concerts to definitely put on your list of hands-in-the-air events to experience.

Six-time Grammy award-winning performer Justin Timberlake will help L.A. start off the new year on a neo-soul note when he brings his 20/20 Experience World Tour to The Forum. The singer/dancer/actor rose to fame in the late 1990s when he was the lead singer of the popular boy band 'N Sync. During the group's hiatus in 2002, Timberlake released "Justified," a critically-acclaimed R&B solo studio album influenced by classic funk. After his eclectic stag album "Future Sex/Love Songs" became a major hit in 2006, the four-time Emmy award-winning artisan was established firmly as one of the music industry's most commercially successful singers.

Actress and recording artist Miley Cyrus heats up the month of love by taking the stage to further promote her fourth album, "Bangerz." Although "We Can't Stop" was the lead single from the studio release, it was the power pop track "Wrecking Ball" that became the controversial performer's first number-one hit in the United States in 2013. Since then, the former "Hannah Montana" TV series star has been the subject of widespread media attention and public ridicule due to her provocative choices to infuse sexually charged themes and what may be considered socially inappropriate messages into her live shows. Seven-time Grammy award-winning trio Lady Antebellum will definitely own the night when the country pop group's highly awaited Take Me Downtown Tour swings through downtown L.A. Composed of lead vocalists Hillary Scott and Charles Kelley, and multi-instrumentalist Dave Haywood, the platinum recording artists are best known for their hit singles "I Run to You," "Need You Now" and "American Honey." Singer and guitarist Kip Moore ("Up All Night") and songstress Kacey Musgraves ("Merry Go 'Round") are slated to open for the robust triumvirate that sold in 2013 more than 12.5 million digital singles and 10 million albums in the U.S. alone.

Hailed as one of the more prominent jazz piano voices in the post-John Coltrane era, musician and composer Chick Corea will surely wow the audience during a springtime concert that will explore the refinement of many musical forms, from blues and bluegrass to classical and country. The master of avant-garde jazz and bebop will be joined on stage by Béla Fleck, a virtuoso recognized as being one of the world's most innovative and technically proficient banjo players. In 2007, the two Grammy award winners joined forces to create "The Enchantment," a well-received album that pushed both artisans to their limits as sonic pathfinders.
