December 8th is National Brownie Day! For all your brownie related needs hit up Clementine on Ensley Avenue. Clementine has chocolate brownies and butterscotch brownies. Wicked is performing this Tuesday at the Pantages Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard. This theatrical prequel tells the story of Glinda the Good Witch and Elphaba the Wicked Witch of the West's early years, setting the stage for the events which take place in the classic film, The Wizard of Oz. Loosely based off a Gregory Maguire novel, Wicked has won multiple Tony Awards in addition to nabbing Idina Menzel a 2004 Tony Award for Best Leading Actress in a Musical in her original role as Elphaba. Time theater critic Richard Zoglin has been quoted as saying "if every musical had a brain, a heart and the courage of Wicked, Broadway really would be a magical place." Tickets start at $75 and the performance starts at 8:00 p.m.

Former American Idol winner Phillip Phillips will be playing Club Nokia @ LA Live this Thursday. Phillips released his second studio album, Behind The Light, in May of 2014. Behind The Light featured the song "Raging Fire," which climbed to the number seven spot on the US Adult Top 40 Billboard Chart. Phillips' 2012 single, "Home," went platinum four times over in the United States and was featured on-air during coverage of the 2012 Olympic Games in London. The concert start starts at 8:00 p.m. and tickets are going for $61 and up online.

Date: Saturday, December 13
This Saturday marks the 52nd annual Marina del Ray Holiday Boat Tour Parade. The festivities start at 5:55 p.m. when fireworks are set off to herald the beginning of the parade before the boats are officially set free at 6:00 p.m. The parade lasts approximately two hours and all entrants will be judged while circling the main channel of the marina. An awards ceremony will take place at the Santa Monica Windjammer Yacht Club the following day where each and every participating boat will go home with some type of reward. Take your family back in time this Sunday by visiting the La Brea Tar Pits exhibit of the Page Museum on Wilshire Boulevard. These pits contain the remains of over 200 mammals, birds, reptiles and fish all preserved in mint condition by the prehistoric tar that engulfed them. Larger than life mammoths, fearsome dire wolves and intimidating saber tooth tiger bones have all been discovered and are currently on display. The pits are open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. every day of the week. Children under two get in free, children (3-12) cost $5, youths (13-17) cost $9 and adults cost $12.
