Hotel Cafe
1623 1/2 N. Cahuenga Blvd.
Hollywood, CA 90028

Originally a coffee shop, Hotel Cafe is a cozy little live music venue in Hollywood that has become almost a rite of passage for emerging talent you're likely to hear on radio stations. The entrance is located through an obscure back alley where the front door is actually the back door so it's real easy to miss when passing by on the streets. The stage itself is small with only enough room for the instrumental essentials, but the acoustics are strikingly clear. The best part about this live music venue is that the tickets are cheap and there's usually more than one performer on any given night so tickets are usually good for multiple artists even though you only purchased tickets to see one.

From The Red Hot Chili Peppers to Janes Addiction and The Foo Fighters, practically every band has played the world famous Roxy Theater. Located on the famed Sunset Strip, The Roxy opened its doors in 1973 and has become a great venue to see up and coming bands as well as those who will probably never make it. Prices to get in make it a very reasonable attraction for those looking to see a show at low costs. You might even catch a show for one of the next big band!

Low End Theory is more of a dive bar than it is a live music venue, but it does have a couple of stages set up for the kind of live performances you'd typically see your friend's boyfriend's band playing in. The only reason The Airliner makes the list as one of the best cheap live music venues in Los Angeles is because of Low End Theory every Wednesday night. If you like dubstep or electronica music, then Wednesday nights are the best days to go for only $10. If you prefer hip-hop, then you can get your fix of cool LA beats during Urban Underground on Friday nights.
