Opened in 2014, Wahfles serves up pretty much any type of waffle you can imagine. From sweet to savory, this La Verne waffle hot spot takes its influences from around the world when developing their waffles. The bakery offers savory favorites like their "Scarlett Johansson" with chicken breast, mozzarella, grilled red onions, tomatoes, sun-dried tomatoes, garlic aioli and basil on a waffle that is iron pressed. Or, choose from a ton of specialty waffles or "wahfles" as they refer to them as, including the "Creme Brulee" with sweet custard, and turbinado sugar, as well as the "Banana Cream" that's made from scratch and comes with pie filling, graham cracker crumble, cinnamon sugar and topped with whip cream and pecans. This hipster diner located in cool Silver Lake has an impressive menu. For the late riser, breakfast is served throughout the day. Unlike other waffle locations mentioned, Fred offers a simple golden waffle served with maple syrup, nothing intricate or fancy, just airy and delicious. However, you might want to check out their dessert menu where the Bossa Nova Waffle Sundae lives. A warm Belgian waffle is topped with dulce de leche vanilla bean and whipped cream. The waffle indentations are filled with drizzled sweetness. Make sure to try their Bossa Nova Waffle with vanilla ice cream, dulce de leche and whipped cream.
