If you are looking for a night out filled with comedy, check out these local OC venues that will offer the best events in 2014. From experienced comedians to those just starting out in the world of comedy, there is something for everyone to enjoy and events that will be appropriate for all ages.

From "The Office," Dunder-Mifflin employee Darryl Philbin (Craig Robinson) will be making his appearance at the Irvine Improv for a special weekend performance. Robinson is also known for his performances in the films "Pineapple Express," "Shrek Forever After" and "This Is the End," to just name a few. Robinson's laid-back comedy style has led him to many parts in comedic films over the last five years and even led him to take over the prestigious role as host of "Last Comic Standing" since 2010. Past notable hosts for the show include Jay Mohr, Anthony Clarke and Bill Bellamy.

Named as one of the top 10 highest earning comics in the US in both 2009 and 2010, Russell Peters will be showcased at the Brea Improv during the second weekend of March. Peters' comedic style highlights ethnic, racial and cultural stereotypes and one of his most notable punchlines, "Somebody gonna get a hurt real bad," refers to his childhood with his traditional Indian father. His success includes sold-out arenas like Madison Square Garden, the Nokia Theater, the Sydney Opera House, the 02 Arena and much more.

Date: Two shows every Friday and Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

For a family-friendly setting in the OC area, ImprovCity provides a 90-minute show that features professional improvisation. The comedians perform a range of games, scenes and songs that are made up on the spot, which makes each show a unique and exciting experience for those who attend. For a reasonable price, the show entertains the audience for an hour and half and it is appropriate for all ages. On occasion, audience members will be asked to join the comedians on stage for particular scenes. Keep in mind that ImprovCity works with local schools by helping in their after-school curriculum with emphasis on team building, public speaking and the importance of confidence in decision making.

If you're looking for a free comic show and crave discovering new talent, The Harp Inn offers that every Tuesday night. Beginners are welcome to join and will be given five minutes to perform their bit. Performers that take the stage will include the show's host and producer Ted Twyman and comedians Cate Gary, Robert Tran and Scott Blacks. There is no cover charge and parking is free for this event.

Another free event for locals to enjoy a night of comedy is at the Huntington Beach pub on Main Street. The event brings specials all night including $3 domestic and draft beer along with $5 burger and fries. This location has been open since 2003 and is in the heart of downtown Huntington Beach. Past comedians that have graced the stage of this event include K-Von, Omid Singh, Mike Citera and Patric Fowler.
