When it comes to this time of the year, nothing says Fall and Winter quite like holiday ice rinks. After all, the rinks only come out during the colder months of the year. And, although Orange County might not get the coldest weather in the country, holiday ice skating definitely helps get children and adults alike in the spirit. This season, make sure to visit one of Orange County's top holiday destinations, the Irvine Spectrum Outdoor Ice Skating Rink. Or, take a photo with Santa and enjoy great gift shopping! In addition, the day will cap itself off with a spectacular tree lighting of a beautiful 50 foot Christmas tree at 6pm. For a fun activity to do with your special someone or with your family, Riley's Apple Farm offers a chance for you to take part in one of the most quintessential Fall activities. Pick apples, as well as berries and vegetables here and you can also design your own tour with activities including archery, rope making, cider pressing, homahawk throws, gold panning and more. Complete with fire pits and a view of the beautiful Pacific Ocean, there's no better place to visit when the weather gets cold and you want to warm up next to a fire with friends. Tucked away at the bottom of a cliff, its a favorite spot for bonfires with a series of rows of fire pits near the popular "Pirate's Cove." Other popular nearby spots to start a bonfire on the beach include Newport Beach near the Balboa Pier and Huntington Beach, where locals come as early as possible to get their favorite spot. Grill out, share a hot apple cider with friends and don't forget to bring all the fixings for s'mores!
