There are two words that will always bring a smile to a person's face: Taco Tuesday. The word taco, by itself, is a delight of a tortilla shell with spicy ground meat and delicious toppings. Pair the word "taco" with a day of the week and you've got a feast of cheap eats. Whether you're looking for chicken, fish, beef or pork, these five LA eateries will make Taco Tuesday your favorite day of the week.

While some that offer Taco Tuesdays have limited hours, Don Chuy's isn't one of them. You can get $1 tacos all day and all night. Take the time to sit down and this spot willeven throw in free chips with two kinds of salsa, one of them being the really chunky kind. Knock those babies down with $2 Tecates and you'll be one happy diner. While fish tacos aren't available for the cheap eats, Don Chuy'soffers a potato taco topped with shredded lettuce and queso fresco for you vegetarians.

While there's no better deal than a taco for a buck, sometimes you have to order a bunch of them to satisfy your appetite. At Ernie Jr's Taco House, you get the big tacos on Taco Tuesday stuffed with beef and all of the proper taco accessories. Add on a couple of cheap beers and you'll be full before you know it. What's even better is that the big tacos are offered from opening to close for a Taco Tuesday that's hard to miss. But just in case you do, you can get the same big beef taco on Wednesday.

South-of-the-border authenticity isn't really examined when looking for a cheap taco. You get what you get when it comes to cheap eats and as long as you're full when the plate is empty, who cares. However, for those looking for the real deal on a Taco Tuesday, El Nopal is where you'll want to go. Offering authentic Oaxacan-style cuisine, El Nopal's Taco Tuesdays are a dollar off all regular menu tacos from open to close with $2.50 beers from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. It also has other specials during the week that you might want to check out.

For the cheapest Taco Tuesday, hit up Calle Tacos. For $.99 each, you get your choice of al pastor (marinated pork), carne asada (beef), carnitas (shredded pork) orpollo (chicken) crammed into a soft shell with all of the cilantro and onion you want. Although shrimp and fish aren't included in the discount line-up, Calle Tacos' prices are pretty reasonable anyway. The Tuesday $.99 tacos are offered from 11 a.m. until midnight but the Hollywood entertainment is 24/7.

As a bright little stand on Santa Monica Boulevard, Nacho's Tacos offers big flavor for its$1 Taco Tuesday tacos. Soft taco shells packed with chicken, beef or pork and topped with cilantro and onion and always served with a smile. Delicious food and friendly employees will make this your most pleasant cheap-eat experience regardless of what you order. While Nacho's Tacos doesn't currently have a website, rumors are that the owner is working on it. But if you want to hear a little something about the menu, just give it a call.
