In honor of the end of Prohibition on December 5, 1933, each year we celebrate the ratification of the 21st Amendment to the U.S. Constitution which prohibited alcohol in the U.S. Otherwise known as Repeal Day, this celebration of the end of prohibition recognizes the end of that terrible 13 year period where American's couldn't lawfully drink. Today, it seems almost impossible that we can't just grab a beer or glass of wine at dinner and take part in some debauchery. So, to toast to the best day in American history, we've rounded up some of the best places around town celebrating with their own Repeal Day specials.

On Repeal Day, stop by Sunset Blvd's Paley bar, which is offering $5 classic cocktails at the bar. Celebrate the end of Prohibition by visiting this hip Hollywood drinking destination and sip on drinks like their Moscow Mules, or drinks like the Bee's Knees, Rye Manhattans, Palomas, and Penicillins. As one of West Hollywood's hottest drinking spots, Bar 10, will be celebrating Repeal Day with drinks available for half the price. Celebrate the end of Prohibition with drinks like their "Pink Slip" with Russian Standard Vodka, agave, lime, strawberry, cucumber, and jalapeño, their "PAMA Bitch Margarita" with Casamigos Reposado, Cointreau, PAMA, lime, orange, and agave, the "Peaching For The Stars" with Peach Ciroc, peach purée, TripleSec, lemon, simple syrup, and strawberry. The bar, which opened in 1915, is one of the oldest bars in LA and is the perfect place to celebrate the days of old. In fact, the basement bar known as The Del Monte actually operated as a speakeasy during Prohibition. So, what better place to visit today than these bars? Located in the heart of Venice, this popular speakeasy is featuring a Repeal Day party. This year marks the 101 anniversary of the Repeal Day celebration and Townhouse is doing it in style. There will be plenty to take party in including at 7pm with DJ Mark Maxwell in Townhouse, followed at 8pm by Brad Kay's Regressive Jazz Trio. At 8:45pm, bar historian George Czarnecki will be at this famed speakeasy, and the fun doesn't stop until Midnight with the Mudbug Brass Band Procession.
