A tribute band is a special kind of cover band. It is a niche band for fans of the original group. At the Pacific Amphitheater, tribute bands such as Strangelove and Sweet & Tender Hooligans can be found. The former is a tribute to Depeche Mode and the latter to both The Smiths and Morrissey. On Aug. 6, a tribute band to The Beatles, called The Fab Four, is playing. Check out the venue's online schedule to see what other cover bands are coming up.

Prince was one of the most talented American musicians of all time. It only makes sense that other musicians would want to pay tribute to him. The Wayfarer also pays tribute to Prince, which can be seen in their online schedule. On the restaurant and music venue's roster for July 23 performances are numerous artists "celebrating the life and music of Prince." Besides their Prince tribute, check their schedule in future for any upcoming tribute bands and cover artists.

A variety of musical acts perform at The Coach House. Hawaiian, pop, rock, and other musical genres can be witnessed in performances. Much is original, but this venue is not above cover bands. August has Journey tribute band DSB and Led Zepagain (a Led Zeppelin tribute band) performing for fans. September has tribute band Mick Adams and The Stones performing in honor of The Rolling Stones.

The Yost Theater is a music venue, but it has been so much more in the last century. On the U.S National Register of Historic Places, the building is over a hundred years old and has functioned differently throughout the years. These days, it is a nightclub and concert scene. Cover bands, such as Nirvanish (Nirvana tribute) and Des and the Cedents (Descendents tribute), have been known to play there.

Occasionally, you can find a cover band playing here, but it's worth the wait. The cover bands here are all excellent and can even kid friendly. Upcoming shows see Led Zepagain playing, which is clearly a tribute band for Led Zeppelin. Kidz Bop, who sing the latest and biggest pop songs, will be playing in mid-December as well. They are either a guilty pleasure for adults or just something to keep the kids occupied for a short stretch of time. Either way, it's a night out for the family.
