When you think about daiquiris, maybe you think about frozen daiquiris that are particularly good on those hot summer days. While other variations exist, the classic daiquiri is a pretty simple cocktail made with just rum, lime, and simple syrup. Whether you're going for the classic recipe or some variation, try these places for a refreshing cocktail that is perfect as the temperatures rise.

When it comes to anything Caribbean, Eva's is the place to go. A daiquiri is a great drink, but this place has a couple things to make it even greater. First, Eva's is in Laguna - just across the street from the beach. Second, this place boasts a rum list that goes beyond impressive to otherworldly. You can literally try a different rum every day for a year before you get to the end of the list. Any one of them will be great in a daiquiri, and the staff here will help you choose just the right one for your taste.

Driftwood Kitchen is the kind of place you can fall in love with immediately. When you first walk in, you see the Stateroom bar area that has a nautical theme with all wood. Then you go further into the place and you realize the restaurant looks out on the ocean. You'll find that there's nothing quite like drinking a daiquiri in this place while looking at the ocean. One of the signature drinks here is called The Blue Chair. It is made with banana rum, strawberry, and basil. It's sweet but not overpowering, and it is incredibly refreshing. A couple of these at sunset will make a good day even better.

It's easy to miss Hatch - even if you're inside the Union Market where the restaurant is located. When you find it, you'll definitely find your reward in the food and the drinks. The rum selection is pretty good - including some rums you won't find just anywhere. The daiquiri is called Hemingway's Ghost and it follows a classic recipe: just rum, lime, and simple syrup. On this visit, the rum used was a dark rum called Hemingway's Pilar, which is very flavorful and a great combination with the lime and sugar. It's a delicious and refreshing choice.

The Blind Rabbit is a throwback to the days of the speakeasy - right down to the secret entrance and exit. The atmosphere here is very cool, and the drinks change with the seasons. In the summer you can find a variation of a daiquiri called a 3-Hour Tour. Like the classic daiquiri recipe, this features rum, lime, and sugar. This also features coconut liquor, pineapple, and vanilla. You're allowed only 90 minutes when you visit here, but that's plenty of time to knock back a couple of these refreshing cocktails.
