This Halloween, help Haute Dogs break the world record for the number of costumed dogs in a parade. With last year’s number of dogs parading around reaching more than 400, the Howl’oween parade is determined to beat that number and raise money for local charities. From ballerina bulldogs to policeman chihuahuas, the 12th annual Halloween parade raises thousands of dollars for animal welfare programs in Southern California. Haute Dog will even let humans join in the fun and play dress up too.

Beginning Oct. 10, Sherman Oaks-based Rufus and Delilah Dog Walking and Pet Sitting is hosting a free Halloween costume contest via its Facebook page. With a few simple clicks, pet owners may upload their pets’ costume pics with captions onto Rufus and Delilah’s Facebook page. The top three winners will receive pet prizes, which may include dog and/or cat toys, healthy pet treats or a credit toward a weekly walk or pet-sitting visit.
