The podcast has become a growing trend in the digital audio world, allowing audiences to delve into specific topics of interest, get hooked on a storyline such as Serial and to find purely entertaining programs. Most podcasts are available on the Internet to download through iTunes music store or via an app on your handheld device or phone. Orange County has a unique group of podcasters offering a local spin on hobbies and topics including arts and culture, sports and fitness. Take a tour of these five podcasts to discover interesting takes on the local landscape.

OC Anaheim Podcast

Both tourists and local OC peeps tune into the Visit Anaheim podcast, available on Apple's iTunes Music Store. Featuring interviews with local experts, this monthly podcast is free and focuses on lifestyle and things to do in Orange County. Listeners learn about a variety of events, festivals, concerts, museum exhibits and more. Interviews often discuss best restaurants to eat at, where to hike and the best new art exhibits. In the past, ecologist Doug Thompson has been interviewed on marine life and whale watching in Orange County.

This podcast is dedicated to the Los Angeles Angels baseball team. Hosted by the Orange County Register sports department, the Angels Baseball Podcast can be found through the ocregister.com special Angels sports section. Although the season is over, you can still download the episodes in preparation for next year. From roundups of the week's games to the actual games to season commentary, die-hard fans get first-hand debating on drafts, lineups and management strategies. Tawnee Prazak of Endurance Planet

Tawnee Prazak, MS, CSCS, triathlete and coach of Laguna Beach, sets out to motivate and educate listeners who are runners, cyclists, swimmers and triathletes. Her master's degree in exercise physiology and personal background makes her an ideal local expert on training, nutrition, conditioning and preparing mentally for a race. Her podcast can be found at her website, where she also blogs. Prazak also coaches local endurance athletes.

Shameless Feminist Radio

Nicole Longstreath of Costa Mesa spends her days consulting as a wardrobe stylist to women from Orange County to Australia. Known to her clients for purveying and curating personalized wardrobes (along with new found confidence), Longstreath also produces Shameless Feminist Radio on iTunes, a podcast exploring feminism, sexism, racism, equality and justice. She aims to inspire and encourage women through her podcast by interviewing other women such as Desiree Adaway, business coach Gina Gomez and author Tabby Biddle. Strategic Investor Radio with Charley Wright

Strategic Investor Radio is part of OCTalkRadio.net, Orange County's community radio station. Available on iTunes or on the OC Talk Radio website, Strategic Investor Radio is a show offering various perspectives on the economy. Charley Wright, who has 30 years behind him as an investment advisor, interviews a variety of asset managers and money strategists for the private investor. Guests have included Executive Director of ADISA (Alternative & Direct Investment Securities Association), momentum researcher and author Gary Antonacci, as well as representatives of NAAIM (National Association of Active Investment Managers), among others. Wright lives in Rancho Cucamonga.
