Standing at any busy street corner, one is bound to hear the sounds of Spanish, Chinese, Arabic or French between the many voices passing by. With so many Spanish speakers in Los Angeles, it is not surprising that an entire company is dedicated to teaching this language. This outfit offers group, private, corporate and intensive classes that can be taken at the school location or arranged at a home, company or elsewhere. Learning Language was founded by Edwin Portillo, a native from El Salvador, who has worked in the United States for over a decade consistently expanding his services as a translator, communicator and teacher.

This French Cultural and Language Center concentrates in teaching Angelinos the language of France. Boasting native French-speaking teachers, the center offers classes for adults and children anywhere from beginner to advanced levels. To locate students in the proper classes, those who are not total beginners are given a placement test. Now in business for over 15 years, the Beverly Hills Lingual Institute offers instruction in over 25 languages. The institute strives to keep its class groups small so that each student can receive as much personal attention as possible. Special classes geared toward accent reduction and lessons for younger children are also available. Some classes are offered during the day but plenty of them are scheduled between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m., making them accessible to people with full-time jobs or full-time students. Language Door offers lessons in more than 35 languages to small groups that range from two to eight students. These teachers believe that the best way to learn a language comes from a combination of instruction, study and practice.
