Best Indoor Pools In Orange County

Swimming is one of those life skills you want to have under your belt. Given the fact that Southern California has more sunny days than not, swimming indoors is still desired. In Orange County, there are some fantastic facilities that offer indoor pools. Many of the area's swim teams, including Fullerton Aquatic Swim Team, train indoors. The best indoor pools within the OC offer swim lessons for kids and adults, open swim time, water therapy and competitions.

Waterworks Aquatics welcomes swimmers of all ages to take swim classes and participate in the water program. This aquatic center offers the Orange County community state-of-the-art indoor pools, which offer warmth and sun protection. At Waterworks Aquatics, members can use any of the three enclosed pools. Each is heated at a comfortable temperature. Swimmers also can swim laps in the outdoor six lane junior Olympic size pool, which runs between 84 to 86 degrees year round. Check the Waterworks Aquatics online calendar for events such as Family Swim Night where kids and parents can play in the water, float on inflatable toys and participate in games.

The Fullerton Community Center welcomes locals to swim in its enclosed 25-yard pool year round. The pool, which is managed by the Fullerton Aquatic Swim Team (FAST), accommodates a range of aquatic programs, lessons, water fitness classes for adults and seniors and open swim for all ages. The pool area features large windows that open out to a patio. Adult lap swim is available to swimmers who are both deep-water safe and 14 years of age and older. Persons 14 and under must be with a parent or guardian. There is a $3.00 per person admission fee.

SwimLabs is a different sort of indoor pool experience. The facility features multiple small warm-water pools designed to help swimmers perfect strokes, provide video feedback and master techniques. SwimLabs works with clients of every age (toddlers to seniors), including families who are seeking water safety lessons for young children. In addition, triathletes and master swimmers work and train here. The pools are equipped with a camera and pool-length mirrors, which capture a 360-degree view of the swimmer's stroke and allow the swimmer to view the footage after the lesson.

Huntington Beach City Gym and Pool is a community center offering various opportunities for aquatics and wellness. Open to the public, the 20-yard pool is kept at around 90-degrees. Utilized mostly for therapy swim classes for adults, the indoor pool does not have pool lanes for swimming laps, but is open for free swim. In addition, the Huntington Beach City Gym and Pool, which is part of the Huntington Beach Parks & Recreation, offers other activities such as use of basketball courts and ping-pong tables.
