After work, a day on the beach, or a swell (pun intended) surf session, there's plenty of spots for a cold brew, a craft cocktail or a glass of wine in the South Bay. Whether you're craving an ocean view or a gourmet snack with your drink, here are some of the best happy hours in Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, and Redondo Beach.

Once a dive bar, The Mermaid is now a remodeled more upscale spot with friendly waitresses and terrific happy hour deals. One deal includes one domestic beer special nightly, including craft beer, available for just $3. The seafood-centric fare is tasty, too. The Mermaid is located right on the popular stretch known as The Strand in Hermosa Beach, meaning the ocean view is spectacular, and you can come in with beach tar still on your feet. In the back corner, a large fireplace and cozy leather loungers make a romantic drinking and dining spot. There's also a back room with leather booths and two pool tables, and a small outdoor patio, too.

A great spot for a view of the marina and the sunset sky, Bluewater Grill has terrific small plates and a wide variety of discounted drinks and brews during its popular happy hour. With a prime location on Pier Avenue in Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach's The Rockefeller offers $2 Wednesday tacos and .99 cent burger Tuesdays, which are something of a South Bay tradition. Add in regular Happy Hour specials like truffle mac'n'cheese, a solid collection of craft beers on tap, and a strong wine collection, and this hip, industrial-chic spot is one fine place to stop by after work. The Rockefeller's happy hour is Monday through Thursday from 5pm to 7pm; Friday from 3pm to 7pm
