After a long week, enjoy cocktails and cuisine at one of downtown LA's best restaurants. There is an appreciation that goes along with a footprint that is over 47,000 square feet devoted to food and drink. In terms of iconic destination in Los Angeles, Clifton's Cafeteria is about as real as it gets. Backed by the blue-collar culinary craftsmanship of chef Jason Fullilove, Americana on a tray is served up in the form of classic meatloaf, hearty mac and cheese, and a Jell-O dessert that is a draw on its own. Adding to the timeless nostalgia the quintessential diner, there is also an awesome tiki-themed bar called the Pacific Seas. Embracing a "California twist on Polynesian legend," the cocktails are rum heavy garnished florally. A visit here is an instant transport to a different time. Over the course of a meal and some cocktails Clifton's is serving up charm in the heart of downtown.
