An Orange County summer presents lots of possibilities, especially musical ones. The OC has several great venues, in particular the Irvine Meadows Amphitheater. Opened in 1981, this venue hosted Lilith Fair, Lollapalooza as well as the likes of Ozzy Osbourne and other rockers. This is the final season for the venerable amphitheater, however, but they are going out in style. The August lineup is especially attractive, featuring a blend of rock, country as well as some incredible symphony performances.

John Williams is arguably the most influential composer in Hollywood history. His original opening theme for "Star Wars," for example, thrilled audiences during screenings of "The Force Awakens." On August 13, conductor Constantine Kitsopoulos and the Pacific Symphony Orchestra will perform Willams' "Raiders of the Lost Ark" score live during a special screening of the classic adventure. It will be a night where orchestral music and swashbuckling adventure fuse into something truly great in Irvine.
