As with everything else, trends in cocktails come and go. One thing that has been pretty persistent in the world of cocktails is infused vodka – and with good reason. Vodka is pretty much a blank slate when it comes to flavor, and adding fruit and herbs only makes the vodka better. Try these places where the vodka is infused on site and used to make some pretty amazing cocktails.

Mozambique Steakhouse

Laguna Beach, CA 92651

Mozambique is one of those destination restaurants you tell your friends they have to visit. It’s not hyperbole to say it either. At this place, you can dine on the rooftop, in the lounge area where bands frequently play, or in the dining area on the ground floor. On whatever level you choose to eat, you’ll find some great cocktails made with pineapple-infused vodka. Lust is simply pineapple vodka on the rocks. Passion is flavored with passion fruit nectar; this is an amazing drink for all seasons – especially if it is enjoyed on the roof. With Love, a splash of cranberry juice is added to the vodka. Enjoy any of these with the flavorful food here.

Laguna Beach’s The Saloon might not be that big, but it packs a big punch in the drinks department. Once inside, you’ll find a really cool dark bar with a relaxed vibe. Pineapple vodka is always available, and is used to make the signature cocktail: the Pino. This is a light cocktail that is perfect – especially for warm Laguna evenings.

Andrei’s is a cool place for a number of reasons. With a welcoming interior, Andrei’s focuses on natural and sustainable food items, as well as great drinks. You’ll always find infused vodkas here, like one infused with strawberries and peppercorns that is a nice combination of sweet and spicy. You’ll also find a good selection of cocktails made with the infused vodkas, although the vodkas are good enough to sip on the rocks.

Oak Grill At Island Hotel
690 Newport Center Drive
Newport Beach, CA 92660
(949) 760-4920
www.IslandHotel.com

A Greyhound is a classic drink mixed with vodka and grapefruit. Oak Grill has a drink called the Swiezy, which is like a Greyhound, but better. Start with vodka infused with fresh grapefruit and rosemary. Add grapefruit, lime juices and rosemary and what you have is the Swiezy. It is very light and refreshing. The location may not make the drink taste better, but it will make it that much more enjoyable.

The Blind Rabbit
S Anaheim Blvd.
Anaheim, CA 92805
www.theblindrabbit.com

A speakeasy in Anaheim, The Blind Rabbit doesn’t even advertise an address to add to its allure. Once you’ve managed to find it, you’ll soon realize it also observes pretty strict rules, which you must follow if you plan to be a patron here. One of the many things that sets this place apart is the infused vodkas. While most infusions are done with fruit and herbs, the vodkas here are infused with peach tea and green pear tea. Both make for a wonderfully irresistible cocktail.
