English Premier League soccer may not be as popular here as it is Britain, but there is enough demand for it that you can find a place to watch a match. After all, southern California is nothing if not a melting pot of cultures and interests. That being said, fans of Premier League soccer face the challenge of waking up early and heading to the pub if they want to watch a match. If you want to watch some Premier League (even if you have to wake up early), try these great pubs.

The Shamrock Bar & Grill
2633 W Coast Highway
Newport Beach, CA 92663
(949) 631-5633

Any time of the day is a good time to get some drinks at this neighborhood pub, but an especially good time to have some drinks here is when you’re watching the Premier League. For Arenal and Tottenham matches, this bar opens at 7 a.m. If you need an excuse to start your drinking early, that is a pretty good one. You’ll find your favorite Irish whiskeys and beers here, as well as a good selection of bar food like nachos and burgers.

The Olde Ship
1120 W 17th St.
Santa Ana, CA 92706
(714) 550-6700

One of the tricky things about showing Premier League matches in southern California is the time difference. A bar has to start pretty early to show Premier League matches live to its audience. The Olde Ship has you covered there. It’s not surprising that an English pub shows Premier League matches. However, it may be surprising that you can arrive at 4:45 a.m. to watch the match of your choice. This is a good place to find fellow supporters of Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool. It’s also a good place to enjoy some great English beers. Also think about this: if you do want to start your day that early to watch some football, you won’t have trouble finding a seat.

Pub Thirty-Two is a hidden little gem at the corner of Alicia and Jeronimo. It is easy to drive right past it, even if you know where it is. That being said, once you’re inside you’ll find some good food and a great selection of whiskeys and craft beers to enjoy while you watch the Premier League match of your choice. This place is new enough that it doesn’t have a particular fan base calling this place home, but that just means you can watch the best match available when Pub Thirty-Two opens at noon.
