Dinner And A Movie

This being the movie capital of the world, there are several theaters around town with restaurants so close by, you can be sure not to miss even the previews. The Westside Tavern is right outside the entrance to the Land Mark Theatre in West L.A., making it a convenient and fashionable place to spend time on a date. Plus the Landmark lets you pick your seat, so no need to rush in and skip dessert!

The Arclight Hollywood's Café Bar is conveniently located for a meal right before or after your movie. Plus on weekends they hold their 21-plus Screenings where you may purchase alcoholic beverages on site and bring them in the theater with you.

L.A. Live, Los Angeles' newest entertainment hub, is currently offering a great deal -- dinner at one of the four participating restaurants and a movie at Regal Cinemas L.A. Live for $30, good through October 10, 2010. A bargain and good use of your time!

And the big daddy of all cinema/dining experiences is Gold Class Cinemas in Pasadena, where you can literally eat dinner in their luxurious recliner seats while the movie is playing. Talk about multitasking!

Classical Music and Theater

If a live theatrical experience is more to your liking, the Walt Disney Concert Hall, home of the LA Philharmonic, offers two wonderful dining options for your evening of classical music: Patina, one of only a handful of LA's restaurants with a Michelin Star, or the less formal Concert Hall Café.

Nearby, at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, an evening of theater at the Mark Taper Forum the Ahmanson may be just the perfect thing to do with your special someone. Luckily, there are three dining options within the Pavilion: Kendall's Brasserie, the Spotlight Café and Tina's Tacos.

Casual Outdoor Date

If you're the picnicking type, both the Hollywood Bowl and the Greek Theatre allow you to dine alfresco while listening to the music of your choice. The Bowl lets you bring in your own food if you like (making it potentially a budget date as well), or you can purchase food from one of the Patina Group restaurants on site. The Greek doesn't allow outside food, but instead offers selections for pre-order that will be waiting for you when you arrive.
