Guide To Good Friday And Easter Services In LA

Start your Easter celebrations early this year by heading out to celebrate the reason for the season with fellow church goers! Below is a list of the best Good Friday and early Easter sunrise services in Los Angeles.

Celebrate the passion of the Christ all day on Good Friday at Our Lady of the Angels Cathedral in downtown Los Angeles. Services are at noon and 3 p.m. and at 7 p.m. in Spanish. On Easter Sunday, celebrate mass at the cathedral at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m.. There will also be a Spanish mass at 12:30 p.m. and a bilingual mass at 2:30 p.m.

The St. Monica Catholic Community invites all to view its Living Stations Of the Cross at 2:30 p.m. on Good Friday, March 29, and join them for their Solemn Liturgy of the Passion of the Lord with Holy Communion and Veneration of the Cross at noon and 7:30 p.m. On Holy Saturday, there will be morning prayer at 8 a.m., Taize prayer at 6:30 p.m. and Easter Vigil mass from 7 to 10 p.m. On Easter Sunday, there will be services at 6:30, 8:00, 9:30, and 11:30 a.m.; 1:15 and 5:30 p.m. in the church; 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. in the gymnasium and at 7:30, 9:45, and 11:45 a.m. in the auditorium.

At 6 a.m., more than 1,000 people will be greeted by the sight of luminaries in the form of a cross at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Memorial Park. The service is sponsored by the Conejo Valley Interfaith Association. There will be live music led by Dr. Gary Alan Dickey and the Easter sermon will be delivered by Rev. Brian Long. Light refreshments will be served following the service.

Eagle Rock Covenant Church is a warm community church with a small congregation in the northeast area of Los Angeles. Join the welcoming community on Sunday, March 31 at 8:30 a.m. for their Easter Service. You can also join Eagle Rock Covenant Church and 10,000 other Angelenos at the Hollywood Bowl for the city's largest Easter celebration at 11 a.m.

The Good Shepherd Church of Beverly Hills is an urban Christian community in the Roman Catholic tradition, serving Beverly Hills and surrounding areas. Join Good Shepherd Church for their first-ever Good Friday services at noon and 7:30 p.m. You can also join them for Holy Saturday Easter Vigil at 8 a.m. and Easter Sunday Mass on Sunday, March 31, at 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 11:15 a.m. and 1 p.m.
