WILLOWBROOK (CBSLA) – A road rage suspect was taken into custody in Willowbrook following a pursuit with authorities spanning several cities.

At about 5:50 p.m. California Highway Patrol units were pursuing the man driving a silver sedan on the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway in the Santa Fe Springs area.

He exited the freeway in the Pico Rivera area, driving at high speeds against traffic through Downey before entering the southbound Long Beach (710) Freeway in Bell Gardens.

The suspect made his way through the South Gate and Lynwood areas before transitioning onto the westbound Century (105) Freeway and eventually exiting onto Central Avenue in Los Angeles. He drove to the area of Belhaven Avenue and East El Segundo Bouelvard, near Centennial High School, where he stopped just after 6:15 p.m.

The man surrendered to police and was taken into custody without further incident.
