CERRITOS (CBSLA) — An off-duty sheriff’s deputy tackled a robbery suspect to the ground at Los Cerritos Center during Black Friday shopping.

It remains unclear if the suspect was armed, but the official said as soon as he saw the robbery, he jumped into action.

It also wasn’t immediately clear if he was robbing a store at the Cerritos mall or a customer.

Several patrol cars quickly arrived at the scene to respond to the incident.

The suspect’s name was not disclosed.
