VAN NUYS (CBSLA) – Firefighters were gaining the upper hand on an acre of brush burning Friday in the Sepulveda Basin area near Van Nuys.

About 100 firefighters were sent to the 15700 block of West Burbank Boulevard around 1:15 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. Aircraft also were deployed.

No structures were reported threatened.

The fire was fully contained just before 3 p.m.
