ORANGE (CBSLA) — Police are investigating after a piece of the Berlin Wall that sits a Chapman University in Orange was vandalized sometime last week.

The 12-foot tall chunk of the historic wall, which was brought to the campus in 1998, was partially painted brown.

Officials believe it was vandalized last week on either Tuesday or Wednesday.

The university is working with police on an investigation but said there is no clear motive.

Restoration plans are underway.
