Investigation Underway Into Officer-Involved Brea Shooting
BREA (CBSLA) — Authorities are investigating a shooting involving an officer at a Brea park.
The Orange County Sheriff's Department says Brea police encountered a suspicious man in the area of E. Carbon Canyon Road near Santa Fe Road at approximately 5:40 p.m. Tuesday.
The man was fatally shot at the scene.
No officers were reported injured in the incident.
Tuesday night's shooting follows one week after a man was reported to have fired shots in the same area.
The Orange County Sheriff's Department is taking over shooting investigation involving an officer.
It was not immediately clear if the incidents were related.
