Device Explodes Outside Dana Point Church, No Injuries Reported

DANA POINT (CBSLA) — Police were investigating Wednesday after a device exploded in the parking lot of a Dana Point church.

The bomb squad responded to Capo Beach Church on Doheny Road and Domingo Avenue just after noon.

A witness said someone inside threw some sort of device into the bushes before driving away.

The device exploded a few seconds later, though nobody was injured.

Detectives would not say whether the church might have been the intended target.
