2 Uninjured After Single Engine Plane Loses Power, Lands In Lancaster Field

LANCASTER (CBSLA) — Two people walked away uninjured following the hard-landing of a single-engine plane in a field in Lancaster.

Ian Gregor, the public affairs manager for the FAA, says the Scoda Aeronautica Super Petrel LS lost power and landed just before 11 a.m. Sunday, causing minor damage to the plane.

The aircraft was flying from Agua Dulce Airport to General Wm J. Fox Field Airfield in Lancaster, Gregor said.

The incident had unfolded near 70th Street West at Avenue K, spurring a grass fire. About two acres were burned.
