Guide to the 2019 99U Conference

By Laurie Jo Miller Farr

Describing the 99U Conference in 2019 as "a call to action for creatives to take control of our tomorrow," Adobe presents its 11th annual gathering on May 8-10, 2019 in New York City. Designed to help creatives supercharge their work, 99U seek to provide inspiration to designers, marketers, engineers, educators, artists, and CEOs from all sorts of verticals.

What is Adobe 99U?

The two-day conference is a firehose of information and ideation, an opportunity for attendees to explore leadership, teamwork, productivity and more. All talks are original; none have been given previously.

The organizers accept suggestions for speakers and breakout sessions topics, aiming to finalize the program by late January. See the website for details.

Attendees are known as "fellows," and there are 1,000 registration places available on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration is now open and early bird pricing is available at $999 per person through Feb. 12, 2019. Badges include full main stage access at Alice Tully Hall for the two days, breakout sessions, and the 99U parties.

When and Where is the Conference?

Be in New York City for networking at the kickoff party on Wednesday evening, May 8, 2019, or catch up with for registration and the opening breakfast on Thursday morning, May 9, 2019. The main stage talks from creative and business leaders take place before lunch, followed by breakout sessions, labs, and workshops. The program order is reversed on day two of the conference when breakout sessions re-start after a late breakfast and the main stage talks continue after lunch.

Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in Midtown Manhattan is the stunning 16-acre setting for 99U. Main stage events take place at Alice Tully Hall, a purpose-built concert venue at Broadway and West 65th Street. Additional venues around the Lincoln Center campus are used for the conference's smaller sessions.

Public transportation: The subway station at 66th Street / Lincoln Center Station is served by the local 1 train. The M5, M7, M10, M11, M66 and M104 bus lines all stop within one block of Lincoln Center.

Closing Party at 99U in 2019

The closing party on May 10, 2019, is held at an iconic venue, the Museum of Modern Art, only a 12-minute walk from Lincoln Center. Weather permitting, the after party and DJ will flow from the Donald B. and Catherine C. Marron Atrium out to the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden. MoMA is at 11 West 53rd Street, just west of Fifth Avenue.

Traveling to New York City?

The 99U Conference is partnering with Ace Hotel New York as its official accommodation provider. The hotel will offer a preferred rate sent out with each badge registration confirmation. The hotel is 2.5 miles from Lincoln Center at 20 West 29th Street.
