Suspect In Irvine Armed Robbery Fired At His Victims, Police Say

IRVINE (CBSLA.com) — A search is underway for a suspected armed robber police say fired at his victims outside of an apartment in Irvine.

Police in Irvine say officers responded to reports of "shots fired" just before 11 p.m. Saturday in the 500 block of Hayes Street.

It was there that police say an armed suspect approached a couple standing outside of the Northwood Place Apartment Homes.

According to police, he then removed jewelry from the victims, and fired at them before fleeing.

No one was hurt.

Officers searched the area, but were not able to locate the suspect.

He was described by police as a black male with a thin build. Police say he was wearing a black button-down shirt.
