Pilot Unhurt After Chopper Makes Emergency Landing In Ontario Field

ONTARIO (CBSLA.com) – A helicopter pilot made an emergency landing in a cow field in Ontario after suffering a mechanical problem Wednesday morning.

At about 10 a.m., a pilot-in-training landed in a cow field in the 14000 block of Grove Avenue, just north of the Chino Airport, where he had taken off.

The helicopter sustained minor damage and the pilot was unhurt, according to the Ontario Fire Department.

The pilot told firefighters that he suffered a mechanical problem which made it difficult to land with accuracy, the fire department said.

The FAA is investigating the incident. The pilot's name and the type of chopper he was flying were not disclosed.
